It’s like New Zealand has decided to condense the whole years festivals and entertainment into one month.
Some of the Arts events coming up:

NZ Symphony Orchestra – Leningrad
“Experience history’s most defiant symphony when fiery Russian star conductor Vasily Petrenko leads the NZSO for the Leningrad tour!”
Wellington: Michael Fowler Centre, Friday 5th August
Auckland: Town Hall, Saturday 6th August
Christchurch: CBS Canterbury Arena, Thursday 11th August
Also later this month the world-class NZSO are performing Back to Bach and Sketches of Spain.

NZSM Big Band and Wellington Jazz Orchestra directed by Roger Fox.
Wellington Town Hall, Friday 19th August
Royal NZ Ballet – The Meridian Season of Sleeping Beauty
“The Sleeping Beauty features some of the most famous and demanding choreography and, to this day, remains one of the must-see ballets of all time.”
Starts in Wellington on 28th October to 5th November and then tours the country.
To get you in the mood, watch The Royal New Zealand Ballet Backstage Video. Produced by RNZB in-house team, Backstage Video gives you more of life inside New Zealand’s national ballet company. Watch out for clips profiling our dancers and focusing on areas of the RNZB that aren’t usually in the spotlight. www.nzballet.org.nz/backstagevideo
Plenty more entertainment coming up this month, stay tuned.
